How WoCoVA used Canapii to bring together the world's best scientists
The World Congress on Vascular Access (WoCoVA) is a multi-disciplinary foundation promoting science and practice of vascular access. The 6th WoCoVA was their first edition delivered in a fully virtual format using Canapii.
Taking a traditional in-person congress virtual
The objective was to organise a scientific meeting where the best scientists present the latest outcomes on vascular access to improve patient care worldwide. The main challenge was that this event had always been delivered in person, with attendees visiting stakeholders in a trade-show format and attending expert-led lectures.
The platform needed to combine these elements virtually while ensuring interactivity between attendees and stakeholders remained strong, with easy navigation and full brand consistency for this long-established medical conference.

“We originally wanted to do a physical meeting, but because of the corona pandemic we had to decide to go to a full virtual meeting. We looked at different platforms to run our scientific meeting which could deliver the different aspects we wanted. Canapii was the one that we believed would be able to deliver.”

Custom sponsor areas, onboarding, and poster submissions
The Canapii team worked closely with WoCoVA to create the tools and features necessary for a scientific congress: a custom sponsor area, a visual onboarding process to guide attendees, and an integrated scientific poster submission and review hall.
WoCoVA also made use of Canapii's live streaming capabilities, replicating the event's usual live content agenda with 4 content stages running simultaneously in a virtual arena.

The virtual congress delivered impressive results, successfully transitioning the traditionally in-person event into a professional, branded, and engaging virtual experience that brought together vascular access professionals from around the world.
